To coincide with the release of Bob Marley: One Love, football culture magazine MUNDIAL has teamed up with Admiral Sports for a limited-edition capsule inspired by Bob Marley’s visit to Battersea Park in 1977.
While in London with band members from The Wailers during the recording process of his Exodus album, Bob Marley would often visit Battersea Park to play football, inviting the local community to join. During this time, the tracksuits that fans would play football in quickly became a part of London style and musical folklore — and this is what the Bob Marley x Admiral collaboration encapsulates.
The collection features a reissue of the full tracksuit alongside the yellow “Rico” T-shirt worn by band members during the off-the-cuff football games, while two all-new Marley-inspired football shirts are welcomed in blue and yellow colorways.
Meanwhile, in celebration of the collection release, MUNDIAL and Admiral will also present a new short film showcasing Bob Marley’s connection to football and the city he called his “spiritual home.” The video features a slew of local music fans and a community leader who remembers the Battersea Park kickabouts firsthand.
