Tigerseye is a gorgeous, orange-brown mineral found in Stardew Valley, that could make for the perfect gift for Sam or even the Wizard. It is also one of the many gems you can donate to the Museum to increase its collection, or it can sell for a high price of 357g.

Though Tigerseye isn’t the most uncommon of all minerals in the game, it will still take a bit of time and gathering before you discover one. In this guide, we will show you the best way to pick up some Tigerseye and what you can use the mineral for.

How to Get Tigerseye in Stardew Valley

There are only two ways that you can get Tigerseye: by breaking open either a Magma Geode or an Omni Geode. These specific Geodes can be found in a few different locations, which we will go over here:

Geode

Location

Specific Floors

How to Obtain (Mining)

Omni Geode

The Mines, Skull Cavern, The Quarry, Volcano Dungeon, Panning, Krobus’ Shop, Oasis, Dropped by Carbon Ghost

All mining floors

Break open rocks in the area, or Omni Geode Nodes.

Magma Geode

The Mines, Skull Cavern, The Quarry, Volcano Dungeon, Fishing Chests, Lava Eel Fish Pond

Floors 81-119 in the Mines

Break open rocks in the area, or Magma Geode Nodes.

While Tigerseye has the ability to appear in both Omni Geodes and Magma Geodes, you’ll have a much higher chance of getting one out of a Magma Geode. The easiest area to pick up Magma Geodes is along Floors 81-119 in the Mines, where you’ll be able to pick up more than 20 at once.

You can also find Magma Geodes in any of the other mining locations, but the Mines will have the least powerful enemies, with an abundant amount of Magma Geodes. We highly recommend creating Cherry Bombs, Bombs, and Mega Bombs to make your searching process easier, as they will blow up multiple rocks and allow you to pick up a few Magma Geodes at once.

If you’re doing a bit of fishing as well, Magma Geodes often pop up in Fishing Chests.

How to Use Tigerseye in Stardew Valley

First and foremost, if you have not donated a Tigerseye to the Museum, this is the first thing you should do when finding one. If you’ve already donated it, here are the other options you have for its use:

  • Gift to Sam (Love) or the Wizard (Like)
  • Used to tailor a Dark Striped Shirt

The best use for Tigerseye is if you’re looking for the perfect gift for Sam, and even the Wizard. It is one of Sam’s favorite gifts, alongside Pizza, Cactus Fruit, and Maple Bars. The Wizard likes the item, while the rest of the villagers dislike it. Outside of this, we highly recommend selling any additional Tigerseye you come across, as they can sell for a maximum of 357g, making it relatively valuable.
